거짓말하는 자들의 운명
솔직히 나는 얼마 전까지만 해도 헌법재판관이 누구인지 전혀 관심이 없었다. 그런데, 문-이-정-정을 자동으로 알게 되었다. 군 장성에 대해서도 전혀 관심이 없었다. 그런데, 특전사령관이 곽종근이라는 것을 알게 되었다. 국정원에 3차장까지 있다는 정도는 알았지만, 이번에 1차장이 홍장원이라는 것을 알게 되었다. 굳이 곽종근과 홍장원의 이름을 말하는 것은 이들이 법정에서 거짓 증언을 했기 때문이다. 눈을 맞추지 못하고, 횡설수설하고, 말끝을 흐리는, 즉 거짓의 단서(Say or Do)를 보면서 거짓말을 하고 있다는 것을 금방 알 수 있었다. 이들은 향후 반드시 처벌받을 것이다. 성경은 이들에게 어떤 심판을 내릴까?
1. 아나니아와 삽비라 (사도행전 5:1-11)
거짓말:
아나니아와 그의 아내 삽비라는 자신들의 재산을 팔고 일부를 감추었으면서도 전부 바친 것처럼 거짓말했다.
심판:
베드로가 그들의 거짓을 지적하자, 아나니아는 즉시 쓰러져 죽었고, 몇 시간 후 삽비라도 동일한 거짓말을 하다가 하나님의 심판을 받아 죽었다.

"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?" (Acts 5:3)
"Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband." (Acts 5:10)
2. 게하시 (열왕기하 5:20-27)
거짓말:
엘리사의 종 게하시는 나아만이 병이 나은 후 엘리사가 거절한 예물을 몰래 받아 챙기고, 엘리사에게 거짓말했다.
심판:
엘리사는 게하시의 거짓말을 알고 그를 꾸짖었으며, 그 결과로 나아만에게서 떠난 나병이 게하시와 그의 자손들에게 영원히 임하게 되었다.

"The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow." (2 Kings 5:27)
3. 아합 왕과 거짓 대언자들 (열왕기상 22:1-40)
거짓말:
아합 왕의 거짓 대언자들은 하나님의 뜻을 왜곡하여 아합이 전쟁에서 승리할 것이라고 거짓말했다.
심판:
하나님께서는 거짓 영이 아합의 대언자들에게 들어가도록 허락하셨고, 결국 아합은 전쟁에서 죽었다.

"Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee." (1 Kings 22:23)
"And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded." (1 Kings 22:34)
4. 야곱의 아들들의 거짓말 (창세기 37:31-35)
거짓말:
야곱의 아들들은 요셉을 팔아넘기고, 피 묻은 옷을 가져와 요셉이 죽은 것처럼 거짓말했다.
심판:
이들의 거짓말은 오랜 세월 동안 아버지 야곱에게 깊은 슬픔을 주었고, 결국 형제들은 요셉 앞에서 두려움과 수치를 겪었다.

"And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;" (Genesis 37:31)
"And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days." (Genesis 37:34)
5. 사울 왕의 불순종과 거짓말 (사무엘상 15:1-23)
거짓말:
하나님께서는 사울에게 아말렉을 완전히 진멸하라고 명령하셨지만, 사울은 일부 가축을 살려두고 하나님께 제사를 드리려고 했다고 거짓말했다.
심판:
사무엘은 사울의 거짓말을 책망하였고, 이로 인해 사울은 하나님의 버림을 받아 왕위를 잃게 되었다.

"And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." (1 Samuel 15:22)
"Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king." (1 Samuel 15:23)
성경은 거짓말이 결국 하나님의 심판을 불러오며, 거짓말은 순간적으로는 유리해 보일 수 있지만, 결국에는 드러나고 심판을 피할 수 없다고 말한다.
